Warren County Transportation (WCT) Shuttles and Demand Response

The Board of County Commissioners, through the Department of Human Services, administers the Warren County Transportation (WCT) system. The current WCT provider is Easton Coach Company, located in Phillipsburg, NJ. Easton Coach Company provides a wide range of paratransit and special transportation services to eligible Warren County residents.

Shuttle Services:

Warren County offers the Route 57 Shuttle.

The Route 57 Shuttle Service consists of two routes: Phillipsburg/Washington and Washington/Hackettstown shuttle routes. The designated transfer point is in Washington Township.

The Phillipsburg - Washington shuttle runs Monday - Friday operating 2 buses. The first bus starts at 6:00 a.m. and second bus starts at 7:00 a.m. with the last run starting at 6:00 p.m., and Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. with the last run beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Timetables and Maps

The Washington - Hackettstown Shuttle runs Monday - Friday starting at 8:00 a.m. with the last run beginning at 4:30 p.m. Shuttles operate on a schedule with stops every 60 minutes at key locations along the route.

Customers may access the bus by signaling the driver where they can safely pull off the road.  Driver may deviate up to 1/8 mile if an individual cannot get to or from a regular bus stop along the route if conditions allow.  Please call Easton Coach Company one day prior to the trip at 908-454-4044 or toll-free at 1-866-594-4044.

Route Deviation

Route deviation service is available when conditions allow.  All non-scheduled stops and route deviations of 1/8 mile must be requested by notifying the driver or calling Easton Coach Company at 908-454-4044 or toll-free at 1-866-594-4044.

Demand Response Service:

Who Is Eligible

Services are available to Warren County residents who are persons with disability, senior citizens, veterans, low-income, or who live in certain areas of the county. To determine if you are eligible, contact WCT at 908-454-4044 or Toll-Free at 1-866-594-4044.

Hours of Operation

Transportation is provided Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. WCT does not operate on the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Requesting Transportation:

Call Easton Coach Company at 908-454-4044 or Toll-Free at 1-866-594-4044 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Calls must be made at least three (3) working days in advance of the day of the needed trip. Late trip requests are accepted as the schedule permits.

No trips are guaranteed.

Residents utilizing Easton Coach Company should be prepared to be picked up at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to their scheduled time and wait fifteen (15) minutes later than their scheduled time before calling the office.

Suggested Fare Policy

The suggested fare is $1.00. A farebox is available on the paratransit vehicles. You may also mail your suggested fare (checks should be made payable to the Warren County Treasurer) to: Warren County Department of Human Services, Division of Administration, 1 Shotwell Drive, Belvidere, NJ 07823.

Transportation is provided to destinations within the county for various needs, including medical appointments, food shopping trips, and trips to the county courthouse.

Trips to Belvidere are available three times a day with pick up times at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. again at 12:00 p.m. with return travel from Belvidere at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and last trip at 4:30 p.m. You must call Easton Coach Company to reserve a seat.

Food Shopping trips are scheduled for the first and third full weeks of each month, as follows:

  • Hackettstown area (Tuesday)

  • Washington area (Wednesday)

  • Phillipsburg area (Thursday)

  • Belvidere area (Friday)

Confirmation

Since no trip is guaranteed, residents should contact Easton Coach Company to confirm the trip and pick-up time. Residents are asked to call either the day prior to the trip from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or the morning of the trip.

Cancellation Policy

Residents must call Easton Coach Company at least 1 hour before the scheduled pick-up time to cancel a trip. Residents who do not call will be recorded as a no-show. Any resident who has three (3) recorded no-shows within a thirty (30) day period will be suspended from services for thirty days.

Easton Coach Company will contact residents by telephone, as soon as possible, if a trip needs to be canceled and rescheduled.

Changes in Schedule

Easton Coach Company will determine if Transportation will be closed due to inclement weather. All closings will be announced on the following radio/tv stations: WAEB B104.1, WZZO Z95.1, WAEB AM 790, WFMZ TV Channel 69.

Easton Coach Company will contact all appropriate parties if they intend to close early due to inclement weather. Residents who have questions concerning the program closing early may contact Easton Coach Company at 908-454-4044 or Toll-Free at 1-866-594-4044.

Comments, Concerns and Suggestions

Input into the administration and operation of the WCT is critical to the ongoing success of the program. Residents are encouraged to openly and actively comment on the WCT services provided to them. Volunteer Opportunities:

Residents are encouraged to participate in the Warren County Transportation Advisory Council (TAC). Meetings are held bimonthly, on the second Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Location varies throughout the county as well as virtually via Microsoft Teams.
