Inmates incarcerated at the Correctional Center are permitted visits in keeping with established policies and procedures.  Inmates are permitted visits from family, friends, other approved visitors, and attorneys, under conditions consistent with the security and the orderly operation of the center.

Visitors are not permitted to assist an inmate in gaining possession of anything considered contraband.  Violators are subject to criminal prosecution under 2C:29-6(b).

It must be understood that all factors mentioned are guidelines for visitation and are subject to space, time, resources, and security limitations.

General Guidelines

All visitors must arrive at the Correctional Center at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to their visit and complete the screening process

  • A decision to deny access for a specific visit is final and the visitor must immediately leave the Correctional Center property

Visitation Rules

  • Assigned visitation days by Housing Area applies
  • Visitors will wear masks at all times
  • Visits will be 30 minutes in duration based on availability, space and time constraints
  • A maximum of two (2) visitors per inmate at one time
  • All visitors must be on the inmate’s visitor list.  This list is completed by the inmate during the intake process.
  • Visitors must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Proof of legal guardianship is required.  The parent or guardian must be on the inmate’s approved visitor list.
  • Minors left unattended in the lobby or outside in a vehicle shall cause a visit to be terminated.
  • All visitors must present valid identification or entry to the facility shall be denied.  Driver’s licenses, Welfare/Medicaid cards, passports, and employment photo identification are considered valid identifications.  Minors are required to present birth certificates and / or valid photo identification.
  • No items shall be taken into the visitation area.  Purses, wallets, cell phones, and other valuables should be secured in a visitor’s vehicle, or will be secured in a locker outside the lobby area.
  • All items transported onto the property of the Correctional Center shall be subjected to inspection or search by correctional staff.  Persons found to be in possession of prohibited items are subject to criminal prosecution.
  • All visitors may be required to submit to a search by a scanning device, or may be subject to a pat down frisk.  If a visitor refuses to submit to a search, or if there is reasonable suspicion that the visitor is in possession of contraband, the visitor shall be directed to leave the center immediately.  Visitation privileges for that visitor shall be terminated and the inmate’s overall visiting privileges are also subject to termination.
  • Visitors shall wear appropriate clothing for all visits.  Mini-skirts, short shorts, transparent clothing, low cut blouses, and other abbreviated clothing deemed inappropriate by correctional staff are not permitted.
  • Special visits shall be authorized by the Warden of the Correctional Center.  These visits include inmates in disciplinary detention and visits outside the scope of general guidelines.
  • Non-contact visits occur on weekdays according to the inmate’s housing assignment.  Visitation schedules may be obtained by contacting (908) 475-7900.
  • Contact visits for sentenced inmates shall occur as approved on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Remains Suspended
  • The Correctional Center must be contacted in advance for any visitors that require special needs or accommodations.
  • Visitors that appear to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics will  be denied admittance.
  • Unruly visitors or visitors that fail to comply with the rules of the Correctional Center shall be removed.
