Medicaid is the Federal-State medical insurance program for low-income individuals and families.  The Division accepts and processes applications for a large variety of Medicaid programs.

Adult Medicaid for the Aged, Blind & Disabled (ABD)

Adult Medicaid (ABD) is a program for those 65+, blind or permanently disabled.  This program provides both community and long term care including short-term rehabilitation and nursing home care.  Apply online at www.njfamilycare.org

New Jersey Family Care (Medicaid)

Provides free health care coverage to lower-income single adults and families. NJ Family Care offers full health coverage through several recognized Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs). NJ Family Care covers doctor visits, eyeglasses, hospitalization, lab tests, x-rays, prescriptions, regular checkups, mental health, and dental. NJ Family Care also provides medical coverage for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and 12 months after birth.  The infant receives coverage for one year from the date of birth.
