For Seniors 60 Years of Age

For seniors 60 years of age who may fit into one or more of the following categories:

  • Living alone and/or feeling isolated
  • New to the area
  • Frail and in need of support
  • In a stressful situation due to relocation, bereavement, health problems, or lack of family, friends, or neighbors to offer support.

By Volunteers

Volunteers of any age that are:

  • Willing to commit 1 to 2 hours a week to the program.
  • Willing to complete a brief period of training.
  • Willing to provide regular feedback to the program coordinator.

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to provide friendly visitation to:

  • Alleviate loneliness.
  • Encourage socialization
  • Assist return to the community.
  • Enhance motivation for independence.
  • Add information about community resources
  • Have informal consultation with the referral source.
  • Ensure connection to care, manager.

When a home visit is not appropriate, a Telephone Reassurance call will be made on a regular basis by our trained volunteers.
