Norwescap Cuts Ribbon to Open Expanded Food Bank

Post Date:09/27/2023 3:24 PM
(PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - September 27, 2023) - Commissioner James R. Kern III was on hand this morning in Phillipsburg for the ribbon-cutting at Norwescap New Jersey's updated food bank annex. The renovations done to the space nearly doubled both the dry food capacity and the cold food storage of the warehouse, modernized the electric and gas, and added a loading dock that will make shipping pallets of food much easier. Norwescap believes these updates will allow them to deliver the equivalent of more than 2.2 million meals next year – an increase of more than 500,000.

Commissioner Kern commented, "Norwescap is a vital part of the Warren County community and we are thankful for their mission to empower families and fight hunger. This expansion of their food bank annex's capabilities is a game changer in that fight. Thank you for all that you do."
