Commissioners Start Drafting 2023 Budget

Post Date:01/05/2023 3:42 PM

(WHITE TWP.. NJ - January 4, 2023) - The Board of County Commissioners tackled their first major agenda item of the new year, holding their first budget session of 2023.

Although crafting the annual spending plan is a long and arduous task, the Commissioners and the county government department heads are dedicated to delivering a budget that is efficient and effective. “As always our departments have pulled together budgets that are conscientious to the needs of our residents as well as being fiscally responsible. Having such a great team made leading our first real meeting of the year easy and painless,” Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla said.

Commissioner Jason Sarnoski added, “We continue to put together responsible budgets as to not increase taxes for our residents. We are diligent with the budget and go through every spending item to ensure we are good stewards of the taxpayer’s dollars.”

"As we start another budget process, I look forward to working with my colleagues on crafting a final product that will continue in the tradition of fiscal responsibility," Commissioner James R. Kern III said. "Every department will be reviewed and scrutinized on behalf of the taxpayers," he added.

The next budget meeting for 2023 is scheduled for 9am this Saturday, January 7, with more work sessions scheduled into next month.
