Diane Malanga, president of Rolling Thunder, Inc. Chapter 3 NJ, presented the Warren County Board of County Commissioners with a lithograph entitled "Valley Of Tears." The artwork depicts an item that represents each part of a military family's journey.

"My son, now retired, served and is a wounded warrior making us a gold star family," Diane Malanga commented in relevance to the artwork.

Rolling Thunder is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to educate the public about the forgotten POW-MIA in society and protect future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners Of War/Missing In Action. Rolling Thunder is committed to helping American veterans from all wars.

Rolling Thunder held their 23^rd Annual Freedom Run - Terrence “Terry” Lee Memorial in Belvidere earlier in July, a fundraiser designed to provide housing to homeless veterans.

“I want to thank all who participated in this event,” Commissioner Director Jason J. Sarnoski remarked.

A veteran is given the keys to a fully furnished home, “down to the welcome mat,” Malanga said in regards to the veterans program. Rolling Thunder is in the process of providing housing to their 11^th veteran.

“Because of this work, Rolling Thunder is the only organization in the country to be given the Medal of Valor,” remarked Malanga. The highest decoration for bravery exhibited by public safety officers in the United States, this is comparable to the military's Medal of Honor. The Medal of Valor is worn on Rolling Thunder’s chapter patch.
