The Warren County Personnel Department is responsible for administering policies, rules, and practices for job applicants and County employees equally and fairly while complying with all aspects of Federal and State labor law, collective bargaining agreements, and NJ Civil Service Commission regulations.

This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities and support to County Departments:

  • Employee recruitment, selection and orientation to County employment
  • Employee and retiree benefits administration including family leave, health benefits, workers compensation, and pension counseling
  • Civil Service Merit System actions and classification
  • Personnel policies and labor contract administration
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Training, development, and educational assistance
  • Labor and employee relations

There is one full-time provisional Principal Planner position available at the Warren County Planning Department, Belvidere, New Jersey. 

Subject to New Jersey Civil Service Commission procedures, the Warren County Planning Department is seeking a motivated Principal Planner with GIS skills to focus on transportation planning and grant management.  The successful applicant will be responsible for the everyday management of the NJTPA grant administration and  transportation planning related activities.  This person will work as part of a growing team of planners and GIS professionals supporting countywide initiatives and services in planning, GIS, land development, economic development, transportation, open space and recreation, environmental, and solid waste management.  If you seek to establish yourself as a well-rounded transportation planner working on diverse planning projects at the county level, please complete and submit your application inclusive of a cv, resume and portfolio or work samples to the Personnel Department, Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, 165 Route 519S, Belvidere, NJ 07823 or email them to smizzer@co.warren.nj.us
